Letter from Pastor Josh

Letter from Pastor Josh to the Woodmen Heights Community

Dear Heights,

When our Woodmen Heights campus was launched back in 2004, being a “multi-site” church was still a relatively new thing. Originally, the thought was to be one church with two locations; land was purchased, grandiose plans were drawn up, and the men and women of Woodmen went to work.

Over the last several years, however, we began to reevaluate our multi-site strategy. Even with two campuses, many people were forced to drive great distances to attend and as a result, in some cases, would never see those they attended church with during the week. Consequently, we made a change. Instead of having two locations and asking people to come to us, why not launch more locations closer to the people? And…that changed everything.

Our Monument campus, launched in December 2015, now reaches close to 1000 people every weekend, our Southwest campus hasn’t even launched and already has near 400 people calling it home! And, as excited as we are about these new communities, we have not forgotten the one that started it all, Woodmen Heights.

Though the value of our land took a great hit in 2008, the men and women of Woodmen Heights have never stopped working. Our Heights community now ministers to some 2000 people every weekend, has the highest ratio of kids to adults of any of our campuses, and with new construction popping up everywhere, doesn’t show much signs of stopping. It is time we finish what we started!

In these web pages, you will read of our plans for a permanent children’s space, an upgraded worship environment, bigger meeting rooms, a permanent 1979 Coffee shop, and that you would prayerfully consider partnering with us over the next two years to help accomplish it.

While we do anticipate needing more campuses in the future, we are so excited about what God is doing at Woodmen Heights now. I am so thankful for Pastor Andrew, our Heights staff, the Ministry Partners, and the individuals & families that call Heights home. May God continue the great work he started in 2004 and thank you in advance for your partnership in the gospel.

In Christ,

Pastor Josh
