I'm New

Hello

We're glad you've stopped by! Visiting a new church can be overwhelming, but knowing what to expect can help make things better.

We believe church is about people — people discovering relationships with Jesus and with one another. So we want to know your name and hear your story. Since you’re visiting this page, we’re guessing you’d like to know a little about us as well. So here goes.

Worship Services

For lots of guests, our weekend services are the front door to Woodmen.  Services are a great place to encounter God through heartfelt worship and biblical teaching.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT DURING A SERVICE?

We gather to encounter God and respond to Him in worship. As we sing songs together we lift up the name of Jesus, God’s Son who gave up his life and rose again to make a way for us to be in relationship with God. The words are projected on a big screen, so even if you don’t know the songs at first, you can join in if when you feel comfortable.

In each service we join ancient traditions of the church, practiced for millennia, celebrating the glory of the Father, Son and Spirit through song and prayer. We also see each gathering as a catalyst for tomorrow, providing fuel and inspiration for life in the days ahead.

Sometimes we’ll mix in hymns that have encouraged people of faith for hundreds of years, but we’ll also sing lots of current songs that reflect new things God is doing today. The music is dynamic and on most weekends, the band includes drums, electric guitars and keyboards. Other weekends we might feature just an acoustic guitar and a cello. About once each month we receive communion together.

WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?
We want you to feel at ease, so wear whatever clothes you’re comfortable in. We believe God cares more about our hearts than our clothes. You’ll usually find our teaching pastor in jeans and Converse.

Is Woodmen Handicap Accessible?

Woodmen is compliant with handicap regulations, and has several locations in the worship center for wheelchairs or for those needing additional space. If you need assistance, see any of our greeters stationed at our entrances. Individuals with special needs should check out Woodmen Access for more information. Sign language interpretation is available at the Rockrimmon campus on Saturday at 6 pm and at the Woodmen Heights campus Sunday at 11 am.

Does the church offer community groups?

Yes! Information on how to connect with a community group is available at Connect Central. Our community groups are Bible-based, typically held in someone’s home and meet during the academic year. They are a great way to get connected with other believers and grow in your faith. for more info, click here.

I'VE BEEN TO Woodmen A FEW TIMES & WOULD LIKE TO LEARN MORE. WHAT ARE SOME NEXT STEPS?

Well, that’s up to you. We’d love to get to know you better and help you feel at home. But we know that building church relationships isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. We understand there might be things about church or faith that seem confusing or scary. You’re not alone. We’ve been in your shoes and we want to serve you without being pushy.

Stop by Connect Central -- you’ll find friendly hosts there who are experts on how to find community at Woodmen. They’d also be glad to answer any questions you have about Jesus. They’re real people just like you.

Attend Woodmen Welcome -- we want to know you better! The second Sunday of every month, you and your family are invited to join us for a fun, low-key opportunity to meet your campus pastor and other staff, and to connect with others who are who new to Woodmen.

Jump in and serve -- you're invited everyone to participate in the flourishing of others for His glory, to live as bringers of God’s compassion, justice and mercy. It's a great way to get to know others and contribute in an eternal way.

That’s all for this page, but we hope it isn’t goodbye. Feel free to look around our website some more and let’s continue the conversation in person. Come see us soon.
