WE....

Gather, Connect, Grow, Contribute

These are our values — four commitments that we believe lay the groundwork for a Christ-like life. Even in the Old Testament, these were values God’s people held. This four-week series looks at our values through the lens of four specific Psalms.
We invite everyone who calls Woodmen their church home to participate with us in living these out.

WE GATHER TO LEARN AND LIFT UP

For centuries the people of God have gathered for biblical teaching and worship. is why we come together every weekend to study God’s word. We also gather to encounter God and respond to Him in worship. Through song and prayer, we declare the glory of the Father, Son and Spirit. Each worship gathering is a gospel-centered celebration of what God has done in our midst, and a catalyst for us to dive into the work of ministry in the days ahead.

Pray on the way to church. Ask God for an expectant and grateful heart as you prepare to worship.

Be on time and stay through the entire worship service. Every moment in the service is designed as an opportunity for you to learn and lift up.

Look for ways you can encourage others. Perhaps it’s a kind word or a personal greeting before or after worship

WE CONNECT TO CHRIST & OTHERS

We believe the Bible invites us to a radical kind of belonging. Jesus said that the world would know we’re from God by our loving unity. The Apostle Paul calls the church a body—connected and relying on each other to fulfill our mission. God designed us to live the Christian life in authentic community — to share life and encourage one another in the faith. We believe the Bible invites us to a radical kind of belonging and we invite others into our life-giving faith.

WE GROW INTO CHRIST’S LIKENESS

We know that the Christian life is about more than just an hour on Sunday. We need to commit ourselves personally to growth and to authentic community with friends who encourage our faith. To grow in Christ, we seek to apply God’s word in our lives and look to the whole body of Christ for encouragement and exhortation. By extolling the virtues of God’s word and the attributes of his character, we can find reason for hope and trust in God.

WE CONTRIBUTE THROUGH SERVING & GIVING

Do you ever feel like you’re made for something bigger than just yourself? We do too. It stems from the way God created each of us. He crafted us with longings and gifts to be part of His redemptive work on earth. He calls us not only to go TO church, but to BE the church — to live as Christ-followers on mission. The pattern of Christ’s life was one of sacrificial service and he calls us to follow his example. In response to his working and leading in our lives, we use the gifts he has given us to share his love.
