Partners in the Gospel

Did you catch the January 22 update on our Partners in the Gospel funding initiative? Watch the video to stay in the loop on all three campuses.

The gospel. It’s the true story of God’s rescuing love for us. And the good news of Christ’s life, death and resurrection invites each of us into the story.

God calls us to be partners in the gospel and out of grateful hearts we respond. We commit to gather in worship, to connect and grow in caring community, and to contribute through living and giving sacrificially.

In his letter to the church in Philippi, Paul encourages each of us to look to the interests of others and to “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” As we follow Christ’s lead, our priorities shift and our horizons expand. We seek to live kingdom lives that welcome others to join us in the gospel story.

When each of us lives this way, imagine what we can accomplish when we unite in a common cause through God’s power and for His glory! When we contribute our time, our gifts and our finances, together we can change hearts, change our city and beyond, for eternity. We each have a part to play in this life-giving mosaic of community that God is crafting through Woodmen.

We have a unique opportunity to do just that over the next 14 months. We believe God is calling us to catch hold of a new vision and to see it come to life through our prayers and financial gifts. We’re calling this initiative, Partners in the Gospel.

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. – Phil. 1:3-5

UPDATE: January 26, 2017

Our Partners in the Gospel initiative is off to a strong start! This initiative will create more room for people to experience the love of Christ at each of our campuses. Each campus is facing a unique facilities need and with it, an exciting opportunity.Want to know how you can participate at your campus? Curious about what’s ahead for the other campuses? Here’s the current info on the initiative from each campus:

Key members of our staff team are currently meeting with architects to put the finishing touches on blueprints for the Worship Center lower level. Our two priorities are kids and community.

Through the Partners in the Gospel initiative we’re creating a fun, secure space for birth through five-year-olds to experience the love of Jesus in a spot that makes life easier for new parents. We’ll also create spaces that foster caring community and relationships. There’ll be gathering spaces for people to get to know each other and to grow in their faith. The new coffee shop will not only serve amazing espressos, but also be a prime destination for community and belonging.

Thanks to your generosity, we’re within $300,000 of being able to begin construction! Our building fund currently stands at $740,000. When we reach $1,040,000 (80% of our phase one goal) we’ll begin the first phase of the renovation, which includes the coffee shop and gathering spaces.

Of course, this is only the first milestone in our $2,400,000 total project goal. By phasing the project, we’re able to begin sooner, without incurring any debt. If you call Rockrimmon your church home, we hope you’ll join us in praying about supporting the project financially. See below to find out more or to give now.

We’re bursting at the seams with kids and students! Woodmen elders and key staff are in the early design stages of a master building plan that will focus on three key components. First, an expanded worship center with improved acoustics and aesthetics. Second, tweaks to the atrium, including a contemporary coffee area and third, a new addition to handle the ever increasing population of students and children. We envision safe and fun environments that invite all to explore life with Jesus and build community.

Although we haven’t asked for donations yet, various sources of contributions now total over $80,000. Pastor Doug Olsen will join Pastor Rich Griffith for worship services at Woodmen Heights this weekend to give an update on the project.

In just over a year, we’ve gone from zero to more than seven-hundred people worshiping together each weekend. Our team is in the preliminary stages of exploring what the future of the Gleneagle campus may look like and what God may have in store.

We picture a day when people will gather throughout the week at a dedicated Gleneagle facility to connect and build community. We see students worshiping in a space they can call their own and kids learning in rooms that reflect God’s love for children. We hope to have more news to share later this spring. In the meantime, members of our congregation have already contributed more than $7,000 in faith toward our future in Gleneagle.

As we move forward with these various projects, we would ask, first and foremost, for your prayers – that God may be clear in His direction and leading for the future of our campuses.
