Sharing Faith in Fort Collins
Woodmen students help put on a Summer Day Camp in Fort Collins.
Woodmen students have been traveling all around the world on missions trips this summer – even traveling to places right here in Colorado. A team just spent a week serving at Fort Collins!
Excited for the week ahead, they drove to the Genesis Project where they would be staying, and set up for the ‘WANTED: Pursued by God’ Summer Day Camp. The following two days, the camp was a success, with kids enjoying the crafts, games, snacks and worship. The team spent most of the afternoons picking up trash at a local trailer park. The third day of Summer Day Camp was salvation day, and two kids gave their life to Christ!
At the trailer park, the team met a young boy who loved to talk to the students each day. They noticed he had tattered clothes, and so they gave him a gift of shoes, clothes, glow sticks and chalk. He was very grateful, and ran as fast as he could in his new shoes. The students were also blessed to hear the testimonies of some people in the trailer park.
On the final evening, the team celebrated the week with Italian food and mini golf. They woke up early the next morning for the final day of VBS, and said their tearful goodbyes to all the kids and the families at the trailer park.
No matter how far or close to home, Woodmen students have been a joy to the communities they have visited this summer, and are blessed by all the people they have met.
