Loving Well in Nashville

Woodmen students go on a mission trip to Nashville.

A group of Woodmen students completed a wonderful trip to Nashville, where they put on a VBS at Proclamation Church!

The day after flying from Denver to Nashville, the group was energetic and ready to get started. They were able to spend time together studying the Word of God, serving with the parking lot team at church, exploring Radnor State Park, and hearing the plan for what their week would hold.

The next day started with an early morning, and a successful first day of VBS, full of music, games, snacks, crafts, and a time for the kids to learn about missionaries who are serving Jesus around the world. After VBS, the team heard a message from the church’s pastor, which included the story of how Proclamation began, and they were also blessed to hear many people’s testimonies.

The following days provided more opportunities to serve. The group of students continued their VBS ministry, and many of the kids attending memorized the week’s Bible verse. They also served at Second Harvest Food Bank two afternoons, sorting through enough food to provide around 8,300 meals to families in Nashville!

The group took a fun detour to meet Dave Ramsey before they drove back to the church to host Parent’s Night Out, where parents could drop off their kids for an evening to play games and watch a movie. The final day of VBS was a hard goodbye for the students, but they were able to share a devotional on the importance of serving out of a love for Jesus, and then celebrate with a church cleanup party and snow cones!

The team ended the mission trip with a fun getaway to Nashville Shores, where they enjoyed spending time together on the giant water slides after an eventful week of serving the people of Nashville.
