Premarital Workshop
This workshop is designed to help you build a strong foundation for your marriage and is offered twice a year in January and September. Using Les and Leslie Parrot's "Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts" or "SYMBIS" curriculum, you can expect weekly homework and topics discussed such as Purpose, Marriage & Love, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Needs, Differences & Expectations, Roles, Responsibilities & Decision-making, Sexual Intimacy, Financial Management, Parents and In-Laws, Remarrieds and Blending Couples.
Each couple will have a mentor couple during the workshop and will meet with them a minimum of 2-3 times outside of class to discuss specific issues.
WVC requires that couples totally complete the Premarital Workshop at least 3 months before their wedding date. Satisfactory completion of this workshop (or comparable sessions with an approved counselor) is required if you plan to be married at Woodmen Valley Chapel or to ask one of the Woodmen Valley Chapel pastors to perform your wedding. If WVC workshop timing doesn't work with your wedding date, you can email Karen Farhart to obtain names of premarital mentors who provide our premarital counseling on an individual couple basis.
You do not have to be engaged, attend Woodmen, or have your wedding ceremony at Woodmen Valley Chapel to attend our premarital workshop.
