Estonia Students July 2024 #2

Hello Friends and Family,

We started our morning off nice and easy with a 9am call time which we were all very thankful for considering the long travel day that had just passed. Most of us took our time waking up and then came downstairs to enjoy some of the hotel breakfast. There was a very wide variety of food for us to choose from; some we were used to and others that were a bit different. After breakfast, the Josiah Venture interns meet us at the hotel to then take us on a tour of Old City, Tallinn. We walked around for about three hours. During this time we learned about lots of cool buildings that the interns told us about. We got to explore many of the cities old churches including the Russian Orthodox Church, and the largest Baptist church in Tallinn. We also got to see all of the old architecture that the city of Tallinn had to offer.

As well, other building along the way were the Estonian Parliament, Russian Parliament, and Texas Cantina. Texas Cantina was a restaurant that gave us a little sense of home. Our last stop was to the largest Baptist church where we enjoyed the sounds of the pipe organ and most of the team enduring the 500 stair climb to the top of the church. Whilst that was going on a group that didn't climb the church went to enjoy some coffee and sight seeing. We then all meet back up at the conference room in the hotel to begin our training for the English camp. We enjoyed some pizza for lunch and then sat through many sessions learning all about what we will be doing at the camp as well as some of the expectations. We also got to prepare our minds and hearts but taking some time to practice sharing the gospel and testimonies as well as taking some time personally to sit with God. Once the training was done the team was feeling a little extra tired, but we pushed on to dinner. We walked to this restaurant by the Tallinn train station where most of us enjoyed a meal of chicken nuggets and French fries. So American of us. We spent some time enjoying the food and having good laughs with one another. We then headed back to the hotel and are heading to bed to prepare for a busy day of heading to camp and setting up for all of the campers to arrive. We cannot wait to be at the camp!
