Romania #3

Hello from Romania,

This morning we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise and cool morning.  We had a proper European breakfast of meat, cheese, hard boiled eggs, veggies, bread, and freshly brewed coffee.  We met the Ukrainian team at breakfast and got to know them.  We were able to hear some of their stories of how close the war is to them.  Pretty heart breaking, but they have the love of Jesus, and that is evident. There is a language barrier, but that is okay, we have google translate and welcoming smiles.  After breakfast we got to cleaning the kitchen and dining rooms.  The guys went to clean up the playground area.  Once we finished up, we went to the house where the campers will be staying and cleaned the bathrooms, floors, doors, patios, and windows! We will meet the campers tomorrow morning.  We finished up in time for a traditional lunch of soup, potatoes, and chicken schnitzel

After lunch it was team meeting time and we got to know each better and go over all the fine details of running a camp.  We got our job assignments and will find out what group of campers we will hang with in the morning.  We saw the differences in the cultures of the Romanians, Ukrainians, and Americans, but also how God brings us all together to share the love of Christ to these teens coming to camp. The team had fun bonding over several volleyball games after dinner!  We played and watched the sun set, it was beautiful. The laughter and games really helped break down some of the language barrier and unfamiliar-ness. Our team met for a debriefing time and talk about how the day went.  We spent time in prayer and lifting each other up. We are ready to see God reach these campers who need Jesus in a big way. Please pray for peace to continue to wash over the camp and for the campers to see Jesus through us workers!
