Zambia #2 First Day of Ministry

We ventured out into the hospital for the first time today. We began the day with devotions with the staff and had the opportunity to meet the Senior Management Team. We then toured the hospital and learned about all of the various ministry opportunities and ways that Cure is impacting their community and country.

For the rest of the day, we spent time in the ward praying with patients while their children were in surgery, as well as making bracelets. In the outpatient department making we spent time making animal balloons and blowing bubbles while families waited for appointments. Lunch provided ample opportunity to experience the local cuisine (n'shima, beef and veggies) and to learn how to eat like the locals (with our hands).

In the afternoon, the team presented a David & Goliath puppet show and helped the many children complete crafts and coloring pages. We ended our day socializing with several of the caregivers and children - singing songs, sharing stories and learning more about them. The team is enjoying coming alongside staff to minster to and serve the children and caregivers. It has been a sweet time of getting to know so many people and we are looking forward to spending more time with the community here.
