Guatemala July 2019 Day 4
Today has been a heart warming day and overall just a great and unforgettable one in everyone’s mind. We were all pretty slow to get up this morning you could say and get to the Learning Center. Once the kids came our moods and attitudes all brightened like they do every time we get to see their faces. the kids were so excited to see us again today and were even louder and full of joy today. To start off, worship went a little rough in the beginning just because it was a new song, but with the kids trying their best to learn and being patient with us we got it by the end of the day. Other than that we had a very fun day planned out for all the kids. With games we did half water day and other half color run. This was a big hit for the kids and they left all colorful and happy which just made us all feel just the same. We all really bonded over these activities with the kids and they never wanted to leave and would join in on squirting others with the colored water in the water guns or running around throwing powder on everyone. All the crafts consisted of chimes that the kids could design and take home to keep as their own creations. After we had done our morning rotations and it was lunch time we got to hear an absolutely life changing and inspiring testimony from Rut. It was just so nice to witness and hear the things God has done in her life. All the simple things that really made a huge impact in her life and those of others. It left our whole group in awe of how God has worked in her life and just brought her to where she is today with the center and her ministry. After we had prayed over her and for the well-being of the center and for its future we just really connected with a lot of the kids towards the very end of the day. Of course they wanted to play soccer and as usual they were definetly better than us, but we just love to play with them with anytime we have. This was probably what just brought everyone together with our team either playing in the game or other team members sitting on the side together and just cheering everyone on. It was just a great time and place where everyone was together in one place and bonding over the simplest thing that is loved by the country we were in. On our way to the buses the kids would follow us and kept saying goodbye over and over again even when we were on the bus and heading out of the gates they would follow right behind and some even jumped on the sides and tried to ride along side of us. It was just so heart warming to see them want us to stay and be with them and luckily we got this week with them and never will forget the impact they had in our lives. I am very pleased to say we were successful with the kids and had an amazing time getting to spend time with them and get to know them better more and more each day. Of course we will be sad to leave them but will continue to pray over them and their futures and also the center itself.
