Kenya Day 6, High School 2023

Today we got a unique experience and were able to visit a local Kenyan church. Although there was a language barrier we were still worshipping the same God, seeing the Kenyans and their wholehearted love of God encouraged all of us. This experience was especially unique because the building was in the process of being built and there was no roof, yet that did not stop them in the slightest. The 3 hour church service was also a little stretching seeing that we were all very tired from the busy days. We continue to be amazed at the hospitality of the Kenyan people and their sense of community that seems so natural and integrated into their country. This was seen today through the pastors who welcomed us after Church for tea. Reflecting back on the week, it has been so amazing to see how our team has grown and bonded and I am sure we will have these memories and friends for a very long time. I had the opportunity to share my testimony with the group and it was cool to see how encouraging they were. We are preparing ourselves for the long trip home tomorrow and looking forward to seeing our friends and families.
