Czech Republic #7

Dobryy vecher (good evening)! It is the end of Thursday here in Czechia! Camp has us moving all day, so we are all feeling it today, especially the little ones. I have the pleasure of teaching English to 7-9 year olds and today they were quieter than usual, but still so patient and ready to learn. Our lesson today was about things we did in the past and adding -ed to regular verbs. My group is very competitive, so if I can make the lesson into a game they are happiest. We played Pictionary by having them draw a picture of an action and the person who guessed it by saying "Yesterday I..." (played, jumped, listened etc) was the next to draw on the board. I also assist with teaching English to 10-12 year olds. In this class we talked about traveling and the vocabulary associated with this. We talked about a plane "taking off" or getting "picked up" in a car and all the other weird things we say in English. I then led the crafts workshop to many excited campers. Today's craft was approved by the moms and grandmas of the camp who love crafting and have been very particular about making their crafts "correctly" all week. We created mosaics out of various beans and lentils. They were so creative and all their hard work led to beautiful masterpieces. The evening program is our time to all worship together and hear a testimony from one of the team members. I am thankful for this time because it is such a great reminder that we are more than just the USA church, or Woodmen Valley church, but rather part of the global Church. There are many languages being sung and spoken and God hears them all. The kids Bible story tonight was about Esther and the kids loved making their "korona" or their crown. Overall, God is at work here at this camp. Some families are not regular church attenders and some are new to the idea of faith all together. Please pray that this week would be a catalyst for these families to begin to attend church and know the Lord. We are inviting the families to a celebration at the church in Prague on Sunday afternoon and we are hoping that many will attend. Thank you for all your continued prayers. We feel them and we need them!
