Guatemala College update #7

It was a very early morning with wake up and leaving by 6 this morning to go to Volcán Ipala. But this hike was totally worth it! 10 of us were able to get to the top and swim in the lagoon there. We arrived back to the hotel at 11, packed up, and headed to Chiquimula for lunch provided by teachers at the school we did VBS at.

Lunch was an amazing steak with fresh tortillas, salad, and beans. The teachers were amazing company and once people finished eating we had a dance party where many in the group got out of there comfort zone and danced with various teachers who taught us a simple 2-step dance. This was followed by a trip to a beautiful waterfall which had a sitting pool at the bottom allowing us to cliff dive into the water from various heights and there was even a swing to jump from. This was a once in a lifetime experience, bonding the team on this trip even more than before. I can't believe I have had the opportunity to grow so close to the Jicamapa community and these fellow members of the missions team.

After long time of teaching others the gospel this week, we were shown by the teachers in Jicamapa the welcomeness of their community and God's creation in a different way through actions rather than words.
