Guatemala College update #3
Today the team woke up for a run through of our skit for the day. After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we hopped in the bus and drove to Jicamapa to put on our first day of VBS. We had a great time making crafts and playing games based on the skit we performed for the kiddos. The skit was of Joshua and Caleb and their group of spies going into the promised land (spy our giant grapes/fruit of the land in the photo!). The kids were so fun to play with even though it was extremely hot. God blessed us with endurance to continue in the heat. We then transitioned into home visits once the kids went home. The team broke into three groups and went to a total of 16 houses. God opened our eyes to the graciousness and resolve of the people we got to talk with. We talked with each of the families about Genesis 1:26 and how we are all made in the image of God. Many of us were stretched with the encounters with complete strangers, but we were humbled because of how strong the faith of many of the families were. Their love for their family also astounded us over and over. It was a great day of setting foundations for the relationships that are to come. God is Good and he moves in amazing and beautiful ways.
