Nicaragua #6

You see, when making the decision of joining the forces of the Lord’s army, the passage of 2 Timothy 2 becomes an earthly and heavenly reality that will never disappoint us! God is Always Faithful!
“Enduring suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for they cannot please the officer who enlisted them. And athletes cannot with the prize unless they follow the rules. And hardworking farmers should be the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things.” The apostle Paul understood what he was writing about regarding his missionary excursions for he experienced the joy of serving Christ! What a joy it is serving our commander in Chief, Our Lord Jesus Christ!

Our missionary trip was filled with love and joy in the community of Posoltega, Chinandega, Nicaragua. We shared the word of God, joined the nutrition and education program and fellowshipped with the beautiful children of Verbo Church in Posoltega. We did arts and crafts and we even played soccer with them. Soccer in the Heat! Pastor Jim asked later after the game, how are you doing? So, out of breath, I responded with a smile on my face! not so good! As pastor Jim shared his experiences in the following days with us, I saw and understood what Jesus’ disciples must have felt and experienced as they joined the Lord Jesus during his “mission trips” in Israel.

The Lord’s Spirit guided us in the heat of the morning (it felt like two o’clock in the afternoon) as we walked on the dusty alleys of the community and visited the homes of three families each day. We brought a bag of food staples for each family, prayed and connected with them in a profound and personal way. Let’s join the army of the Lord again as a good soldier of Christ Jesus! The Lord is Good, The Lord is Faithful!
Greetings and Blessings from Nicaragua! As a good soldier of Christ Jesus, even though temperatures reached 103 degrees outside and even much higher temperatures inside the church facilities, we joyfully endured the summer drench in Posoltega."
