Estonia #4

"Closer than yesterday."  This is a phrase that you might have heard around Woodmen.  We use that phrase to capture the idea that, in Christ, I am not the person I used to be and by His grace a year from now I won't be the person I am today.  I desire to be look more like Jesus today than I was yesterday.  As followers of Christ that is our goal to be shaped into the image of Jesus one degree of glory to another.

We also desire that those who are far from Jesus draw near to Him.  During our time in Estonia we have been engaging students to take a step towards Jesus.  Most of these students do not have a relationship with Jesus, they have no background in faith, and for many of them they have no desire to explore a relationship with Jesus. We have engaged in conversations with university studies through surveys that hopefully gets them to think about the reality that there is a God who loves them very much and desires a relationship with them.  We spent two nights this week taking students on Bog Hikes - utilizing the time in the car and the time on the hikes to have intentional conversations with students who are far from Christ.  Our goal has been to encourage students to take a step, however big or small, towards Jesus.

We have enjoyed building relationships with them and encouraging them to be a part of Agape Kohvik where the CRU staff can continue relationship with these students.  We have been praying that while we may not see some of these students take a step toward Christ the conversations we have had this week, we hope to have encouraged them to take a step and be closer to Jesus than they were yesterday.
