Mexico Mission Trip - Day 6

Hola! Today was such a great day. It is going to be so hard to leave tomorrow after meeting so many amazing people and having so many impactful experiences.

This morning we went to church and I had the privilege of preaching with Mackenzie. It was a very humbling and challenging experience. I know it didn’t go exactly as I hoped, but I know God’s plan is different than mine. That's something I believe God has been teaching me this week. It was also so amazing to see people worshiping God in another language. Although our culture’s are different, we serve the same God.

We were able to spend the majority of the day just hanging out with the new friends we’ve made. We ate and played together. Personally, I have loved bonding with the kids by simply playing futbol (soccer) with them. They love teasing me about my lack of soccer skills.

Another impactful experience today was praying over the new, half built, church building. It was amazing to see our team praying for people we might never meet.

Tonight when we debriefed, we had the opportunity to discuss some of the challenges that come when we return home from a wonderful mission trip. I have loved growing closer with the members on the team and watching them experience God in powerful ways.

Please be praying for safe travels for us tomorrow, and ask God to help us transition smoothly back into our “usual” life. The memories and friends I’ve made on this trip will always stay on my mind and heart.
