Mexico Student Trip 2022 - Day 2

Today we started the day bright and early for breakfast at 7:30. After a lovely breakfast, we hopped in the vehicles, and made our way to the church in Arriga, that is about an hour away. The church service ran similar to our church service at home, but entirely in Spanish. It was totally impactful to see all the people worshiping in a way unknown to me. During the sermon we learned about Jonah and the whale and seeing God. After church we headed to the old location of the orphanage in Arriga for lunch. After lunch, we journeyed over to the beach. We had a great time playing volleyball, passing around the frisbee, exploring the beach, and making conservation while dipping our feet into the water. Before heading back we enjoyed a quick lemonade or orange juice. They were quite delicious. We concluded our adventure by making conservation during our trek back to camp. Once at camp, we enjoyed an American dinner of sandwiches and French fries, also known as “papas fritas”. We concluded our day with our daily meeting consisting of worship, highs/lows from the day, and testimonies of the group. Today was such a gift, and a wonderful experience to see how other cultures worship our great God. It is also nice to explore God’s beautiful creation. I’m excited for what the rest of our trip had store for us.

PS Feel free to join us in listening to our unofficial Mexico trip song “Livin’ the vida Loca” by Ricky Martin
