Mexico Student Trip 2022 - Day 1

Mexico Day 1
We arrived at El Faro de Esperanza at 3:30 am last night and crashed on our beds after a long day of travel. Today we woke up at 9 and headed to an amazing breakfast. After breakfast we went to orientation, where we learned all about El Faro de Esperanza, their mission here, Bill and Tammy’s testimonies. We then toured the base and saw all the different types of animals they have. After lunch, we had some team bonding time where we got to connect with each other and the children of the home. Our next adventure started after the team bonding time. We went to the ranch in vans and got to enjoy a beautiful 15-minute drive with amazing people. At the ranch we got to hold bunnies, chase geese, admire sheep, and went to a creek where there was a rope swing to play on! We then headed back to the base for a burrito dinner and debrief. At debrief, we sang songs, talked about our day and how we saw God, and we had 5 people share their testimonies. We had a wonderful first day and we learned a lot!
