Day 3 DR Student Team

Today in the Dominican Republic, our team of students continued our outreach in the nearby communities. Our team at the Los Higos education site spent our day working with children at a preschool. Our team at the Physical therapy site worked with people in the community at a nursing home. Our team at the social work site and the other education site reached out to the community as well. After our morning of work we met a neighboring pastor and heard about a woman who recently came to faith in his church. Her husband is not willing to come to church or accept Christ- so we said a prayer for the husband. Today, all of the groups were given the opportunity to have dinner with people in the community. We met with different families and ate in their homes. We had dinner in a very hospitable families home who has a daughter in our preschool. They served us rice and chicken and salad then were very entertained by our broken Spanish as we asked many questions about them. The family had a 3 year old whose twin sister died during birth which was a very difficult topic for the family to discuss. We also got to talk about the families faith and pray for them. While there was a language barrier we were still able to connect with the people at there and talk about their lives. God has been working in many ways throughout the trip and we are excited to see what he will do next.
