Adults - Dominican Republic July 2021 Day 4
Our time at the social work site this week has included a small Bible study, crafts with young girls and a Bible study for women with constructing a “Do it yourself” (DIY) storage ottoman. During the studies with the girls, the focus was the “The Farmer and the Seed” (Mark 4:1-20). As each girl took a turn reading the parable, we would stop and ask them questions about the different types of seeds that were sown. The last type of seed fell on good and fertile soil. We asked each girl what the soil was like in their heart toward Jesus. As we went around, most girls said “fertil” in Spanish while a couple said that their heart was in a thorny season. It was sweet to get to know them through this time together and to encourage them to examine their openness to the gospel message.
