ACTS Heights

We believe God planted us in the Pikes Peak region for a reason. So while we also serve in other countries and contexts around the world, our ACTS team focuses on sharing God’s love right here in northeast Colorado Springs, Falcon, Peyton and beyond.

We partner with Evans Elementary, Falcon Elementary, Odyssey Elementary, Horizon Middle School, Bricker Elementary and Fresh Start Center.

Feeding Families

For many children, facing a weekend away from school, where meals are provided, can be an unsettling time.

Woodmen Heights has partnered with Evans Elementary to provide ACTS Packs full of food to assist families while their children are not in school. Each week, a team assembles 24 backpacks and delivers them to the school, where children can pick them up and take them home for the weekend. To support this ministry, food donations can be dropped off in any food collection bin.

Items needed for Packs:
  • Spaghetti Sauce (canned)
  • Pasta & Mac and Cheese
  • Rice & Dried Beans - 1 pound bags
  • Soups & Chili - pull tab top preferred
  • Ravioli / Spaghettio's
  • Mashed Potatoes - box or pouch
  • Canned Fruit - pull tab top or individual cups preferred
  • Refried Beans
  • Oatmeal - individual packets
  • Pop Tarts
  • Crackers in Sleeves
  • Granola Bars
  • Peanut Butter - small jar
  • Jelly - squeeze bottles
  • Juice Boxes
  • Cheese or Peanut Butter filled crackers
  • Pudding Cups
  • Fruit / Applesauce Cups
  • Fruit Snacks
  • Individual boxes of shelf-stable milk
  • NUT-FREE Individually Packaged snacks (pretzels, chips, Nutrigrain bars, etc)

    HEIGHTS LITERACY PROGRAM

    Make a difference in the lives of children in grades K-3rd at Falcon Elementary! Help increase reading literacy and boost confidence, by joining this team. Volunteer days and times will be 2 hour time slots Monday – Wednesday, 8:30am–12:00pm.

    **The Reading Literacy program is on hold until the 2021/2022 school year. Because of COVID, this serving opportunity cannot happen at all this year, but we continue to pray for next year and what it will bring.
