Safeguarding Sanctuary
Learn more about Woodmen's Safety Team.
Every weekend, thousands of people from around Colorado Springs come to a Woodmen campus to join in worship and teaching with fellow believers. Each service wouldn’t be possible without the hundreds of Ministry Partners who contribute in a variety of ways. Some teach Bible lessons to small children, others provide a joyous welcome through warm smiles, while some work behind the scenes to help the service run smoothly.
One area of service that that may go unnoticed, but is essential during weekend services, is the Safety Team. Made up of men and women who are dedicated to protecting those attending, the Safety Team is a huge blessing. Each Safety Team member is equipped with training to handle any threat to safety that may arise.
Randy Graham, a dedicated Safety Team member, first decided to serve when he saw a positing in Woodmen’s Weekend Service Guide about the need for more Safety team members. Feeling a calling to serve in some capacity at Woodmen and believing that God had equipped him with the necessary skills, Randy applied.
Reflecting on his experience with the Safety Team, Randy expresses, “During the first training day, I knew this was the right place to serve. Training provides confidence, reducing panic. I love God’s people and want our church to be a safe sanctuary.”
