Culture and Customs of Bible Times is a six-week journey into the daily life behind the Scriptures: shepherds and sheepfolds, wedding processions, rooftop conversations, and the sacred duty of hospitality. Each week we'll unpack a slice of ancient life and watch it unlock passages you may have puzzled over for years. Along the way we'll bring that world into view with photographs, maps, and illustrations — tents and sheepfolds, wells and city gates, tombs and banquet tables — so you can see the customs, not just hear about them. Why did Martha insist her brother had been dead four days — and who were the wailing strangers filling the house of mourning? What made Judas eating at Jesus' table the ultimate betrayal? Why did handing over a single sandal seal a land deal and redeem Ruth? Expect rich visuals, memorable stories, and plenty of room for discussion. You'll walk away not just knowing more about the Bible, but feeling closer to the people who lived it. Classes meet for six Monday evenings, 6:30–8:00 PM. Presentations and handouts each time we meet.
