I. Five observations about how we grow from Paul’s prayer. (Col. 1:9a)

     a. Our growth in thanksgiving leads to intercession.

     b. We grow by praying for people we will never meet.

     c. We grow by praying in community.

     d. We grow in our reflex to pray.

     e. We grow in our spirit of prayer.

II. We grow by “being filled with the knowledge of God's will.” (Col. 1:9b)

III. We grow by walking worthy of our Lord. (Col. 1:10)

IV. Four actions to grow spiritually: (Col. 1:10-14) 

     a. Action #1: We grow by bearing fruit. (Col. 1:10b)

     b. Action #2: We grow by increasing in the knowledge of God. (Col. 1:10c)

     c. Action #3: We grow by tapping into God’s power for endurance. (Col. 1:11)

     d. Action #4: We grow by giving thanks. (Col. 1:12-14)
