Dominican Republic July 26 - Day 4

Serving here in the Dominican Republic has already taught me so much. Our team of 11 has been able to serve in different ways, and I’ve been especially blessed to spend time with the women and young girls at a women’s ministry.

We’ve played cards, laughed, talked, and helped them make pottery they can sell. But honestly, it’s the time spent with them that has impacted me the most.

These women have so little, yet they are so willing to love and share what they have. One moment I know I’ll never forget was celebrating my mom’s birthday. The women bought her a cake and celebrated with us. One of the girls even saved her tiny piece of cake to take home and share with her whole family. She had so little, but her first thought was to share it. It really made me stop and think about how much I have and how easily I take it for granted.

We came here to serve, but God has shown me that sometimes serving is simply sitting with someone, laughing with them, listening, and showing them the love of Jesus.

Most importantly, we are here to share the gospel and remind these women and girls that God sees them, loves them, and has not forgotten them.

I came here hoping to serve others, but God is teaching me just as much through them. My heart is already being changed, and I’m so thankful for every moment He has given me here. ❤️
