Dominican Republic July 26 - Day 2

This morning, we had devotions over Matthew 5:1-5 and then went into a time of worship and a large group devotion. Then we ate fantastic egg casserole and toast! Our mission after clean up was to split up and head to our different sites. I was a part of women’s social work. The morning my group spent with 5-11 year old girls where we had a devotional and played games. These girls left around lunch and then a new group came that afternoon of high school girls. With the high school girls, we led another devotional and then helped them with their pottery! One of the most noticeable parts of today was how welcoming and kind each of the girls were. When some entered the room, before they knew us they came and gave us hugs. The language barrier did not bother them as they all laughed, talked, and did their best to communicate with us as we did with them. It was truly amazing to be able to be a small part of each of their lives today. The rest of the day was spent with dinner, an informative culture night with information of the Dominican Republic, and dancing! A great day and I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for the rest of the week!
