Northern Cheyenne - Montana Team

On Fridays, we take time to relax, explore the local history, and relax with local friends. Our friends here, Elton and Kylee, took some of the team on a drive through beautiful back roads on the reservation, and we ended up at Crazy Heads Spring where some of the team went swimming in the cold water! It was great fun.

Some of our team went to the Little Bighorn Battlefield State Park that commemorates the Northern Cheyenne and Lakota Sioux working together to defeat Custer in his last battle. This year commemorates the 150th anniversary of this victory for these tribes.

Another group of folks drove with some new Cheyenne friends who took them to see some wild bison.

Another group went back to the church to finish up clean up from the painting, and another group went to the Mennonite pastor's house to fill the garden box that we delievered yesterday.

Almost all of the groups ended the afternoon with ice cream!

In the evening, our group went to the Busby powwow where we got to see the grand entrance of dancers, and hear the drumming, flag song, and some of the dance competition.

We ended the night very late sitting around the campfire back at the camp talking with Elton and Kylee.

It was a great day of community connections!
