Mexico Day 1

Greetings from Chiapas, Mexico!! Today we got to sleep in till 8:30 due to our late arrival to “the base” which is where we are staying. We started off our day by a lovely breakfast from the cooks here and we got to get to know more about our two leaders for our trip, Nayeli and Juan. Then we got a tour of the property and was also shown a tour of all the farm animals on the property. 

We then helped set up for a graduation for the school that they have on the property so we helped cleaned up the basketball court and put out tables. After we played some fun games and team bonding. We then went to lunch. After lunch we had free time which we spent playing soccer and played on their playgrounds. 

We then headed up to “the ranch” and got to get a tour of the farm and leaned about the history of it. On the ranch there was a bunch of mango trees and Nayeli helped us pick ripe mangoes and we all enjoyed them. We got back to the base and then practiced our dances for the VBS and then played more games until we had dinner. 

To end our day we got to worship with a couple people from the base and spent the rest in a time of debrief and a time where we shared our testimonies.
