Nashville Day #2

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.””

This is the theme verse for the week at VBS, and all are being a great light for Christ. Yesterday was a great first day at VBS. Teens connected quickly with the kids- they were serving.  This team of 18 students and five adults is loving each other well   

We had to be flexible as it was pouring rain, and where we were supposed to serve in the afternoon, they didn’t need us. So everyone jumped in, and we cleaned proclamation church in an impressive manner- closets organized, trash collection, mopping and more. Pastor Derrick said, “They had never seen the stove so clean.” It was a rewarding day being shining lights for Christ to one another and the church. 

We ended our first day with a pool competition between the boys and the girls. Building pyramids and being judged- grading them on elegance, mermaidness, and smallest splash. It ended in a tie.
