Kenya Day 2, High School Trip 2023

Hello blog!

We had an incredibly fulfilling day at CURE today! This morning, we attended devotional sessions and sang worship songs within groups of the staff at the hospital. After that, we were given a tour of the hospital property and were able to see what would be working with for the rest of the trip. We stopped by the children's ward and played with the patients inside for a bit before we headed to tea time, where we had some Kenyan tea and food. We heard the testimony of Winnie, an intern at the hospital. We headed back to the children's ward and from there we were split into groups. Some of us went to the kitchen and helped clean dishes and pass out the food to all of the patients. Others headed down to the hostel and were able to pray and talk with the residents there. The last group was able to play with the children in the children's ward and talk to their families. We made a lot of balloon dogs and painted many nails. After this, we attended the ward fellowship, where the mothers and the hospital staff sang and danced to a song. Our group then sang one of our own songs, and Kirby was able to give a message and have it translated to the patients and their families. After this, we said goodbye and came back to eat dinner and debrief. Sierra gave the devotional, then we talked about the day. Finally, Tyler S and I shared our testimonies. We had an amazing experience today and could see the Lord working in so many ways already.
