Mexico blog #7

Today we traveled to San Cristobal, which is in the mountains, to go to the markets and have a fabulous Mexican lunch. We arose early this morning for a breakfast of pancakes and fruit, and then we quickly headed to the vans to begin our long journey to San Cristobal.

During the car ride, we listened to music and had a clutch time for real for real. It was a long ride and we slept a tad. It was 3 whole hours long. When we pulled up to the function we had to use the lavatory’s. After that we dipped that out of that joint and started walking our way to the restaurant. When we got to the restaurant it was nice and the food SMACKED it was so good.

The food was great, but the time together was more exiting! We had fun talking, laughing, and enjoying our last trip lunch! The teams split up and began to wander the market. It was filled with bracelets, journals, blankets, bags, pens, and so much more! We had fun looking for gifts, souvenirs, and bargaining for better prices.

We had teams of 5-8 going around with translators to help communicate with the locals.

We meet up again and started to head back to the vans. We stopped for coffee, soft drinks, snacks, and ice cream. Right when we got loaded up, the skies opened up and had a down pour! It rained so much that the streets started to flood. The sunset and as it did it was a beautiful orange color.

Once back to the base, we ate dinner, talked to Bill and Tammy, and prayed for John and Nayley. It has been a great trip of team building, seeing God work in mighty ways, sharing testimonies, resting in His presence, worshipping nightly, and loving on kids! God is so so good.
