Mexico Mission Trip - Day 4

Today was absolutely amazing. From painting all day, to playing soccer with our new friends and sharing a devotional/worship time with everyone, our team has had a truly amazing experience together. It is so evident God is doing wonderful things here this week and we already know it is going to be so hard to leave in a few days. The people here have touched mine and everyone else’s heart with their kindness, generosity and sincerity.

Although today was great for all of us, my favorite part of the day wasn’t anything I mentioned above. Over the course of this week, I’ve been pushed out of my comfort zone in many more ways than one and one of those has been leading worship and singing in front of everyone. On Sunday the worship team (me, Carter, Gabe, Sydney and Brenden) will have the opportunity to worship with our friends and their family which means we will be doing our songs in Spanish. I was able to rehearse with my new friend Luis and it was so incredible because he’s singing in Spanish, I’m singing in English yet we’re still worshipping the same God. The fact that we don’t share the same first language doesn’t mean it makes worship any different because we’re still worshiping the same God who never changes. Being able to create relationships with everyone here means it’s going to be hard to leave but I will never forget these people. They will always be in my heart and mind and I hope I have the opportunity to come back someday and see them all again.
