The bright morning sun beams down at 17 young adults as they bravely venture out of their cars. They walk into the tinted windowed 1979 Coffee shop full of both nerves and excitement for the summer ahead. Beaming with a warm smile, Tyler Wooley, the School of Ministry Pastor, welcomes them to Woodmen, eager for all that is in store for these interns over their 10-week summer internship.

This summer, interns are jumping into roles across 13 different teams—everything from Kids, Students, and Worship to CommArts, ACTS, and Global. It’s a chance for each of them to use their God-given gifts in unique ways to serve and grow the Kingdom. Whether they’re building lesson plans for Kids Ministry or co-leading mission trips, they’re gaining real experience and a deeper sense of how God can work through them.

Beyond their day-to-day roles, interns attend weekly leadership classes, are poured into by spiritual mentors, and get to enjoy all the beauty and adventure Colorado has to offer.

When they are not in class or working in their specific department, the interns this summer love planning spontaneous adventures around Colorado Springs. Whether it is a Lake Day at Palmer Park, finding the perfect parking spot before a crowded Saturday morning hike, or enjoying an evening BBQ gathered in a sweet family’s backyard, they love getting to know each other, hearing one another’s stories and experiences, and intentionally investing into their own small community of 17 interns. They also have also been enjoying being a part of the church community at Woodmen and the people they work alongside this summer. If you see them around this summer, be sure to say hello.
