College Guatemala Final Days - July 26-27

With yesterday being our fun day in Antigua Guatemala, we felt a bit more rested and ready to start our Sunday. Because of the beauty that Guatemala has to offer through sights and stores, our team's wallets were empty but our bags were full of gifts for friends, family, and we also got souvenirs for ourselves.
Whether some people got up 5 minutes before breakfast or an hour before, we all got ready and headed to the dining room for omelettes with our choice of toppings.
We then headed to the church in Chivoc where some of our team did a sound check for worship while the others talked and got ready to welcome the church family.
We got to see our own team members lead worship and the message.
After service we had our regular lunch of peanut butter sandwiches. (It used to be peanut butter and jelly but we ran out of jelly pretty fast so now it's peanut butter and honey... which honestly I think tastes so much better.)
On our way back to Mimi's we stopped at Cruz Blanca school for those of us that haven't seen it.
Then Josh from Unum surprised us by letting us stop at the gas station to buy our snackies. Would you believe that out of everything we have gotten to do, our whole team is excited anytime we stop at the gas station?...
Full of snacks and even less money in our wallets, we got to Mimi's to pack up our bags to depart tomorrow at 4 am for the airport.
With our bags packed and ready to go, we headed off to our Celebration dinner at Hacienda Real where we each filled our bellies and got to try the different desserts that they had to offer.
As we get ready to head back to the Springs, we would love prayers for safe travels and for faithful hearts as we transition back into our daily lives at home. Something I have learned from past mission trips is that although we all adore our family, friends, and pets back home, sometimes the transition back to our normal lives can be one of the most stretching parts of mission because it offers a different type of routine and community than what we receive on mission with a group you share your testimony with. Sometimes going home is a different type of mission where you have to remember the love and patience of Christ as you enter your front door. Sometimes you start to miss the mission team that you bonded with. But one of the most important things to remember is that as the mission ends, we are not being disbanded. We are being dispersed.
