ESTONIA April 2026 #5
Hello, Loved Ones,
As our week in Estonia draws to a close, our hearts are full of gratitude for the many ways God has moved among us and the CRU team. What a rich, encouraging, and refreshing final day we had together on Friday!
We began the morning at Agapekohvik with Ellen and Sheri leading a beautiful time of personal reflection based on Psalm 23. They created several quiet, inviting stations where each of us could still our souls and spend unhurried time with the Lord. Using a helpful TAWG (Time Alone With God) format, we were guided to still and quiet our souls, resist the enemy, invoke the Lord’s presence, ask God to search our hearts, ask Him to speak to us, wait in silence, and write down the impressions He gave. It was a deeply peaceful and restorative way to start our last day — allowing the Good Shepherd to refresh our souls just as Psalm 23 promises.
After a wonderful lunch in the main square, we returned to Agapekohvik where Bronwyn led us in folding paper cranes (orizuru) — the traditional Japanese symbol of peace and hope. Before folding each one, we wrote a personal prayer or message on the paper. Afterward, we enjoyed more quiet time reflecting on our relationship with God and the importance of intentionally setting aside moments like these for spiritual and mental health.
In the evening, after dinner, we returned once more to Agapekohvik for a joyful community night. The space was warmly opened for board games, laughter, and new friendships all evening long, giving everyone the freedom to choose how they wanted to spend their time. Jill had prepared an impressive craft station and many people made cards, bookmarks, and encouraging notes, pouring creativity and prayer into each piece.
Sheri, Ellen, and Erika served an incredible 800 silver dollar pancakes on a massive grill that cooked 100 at a time! By the time we left after 9:00 pm, nearly all of them were gone. It was such a gift to meet proud local Estonians and hear stories — including the fun tip that singing is one of the best ways to learn the Estonian language. The warm, welcoming atmosphere of Agapekohvik made it a perfect ending to our time in Tartu.
What a rewarding last day! It flowed so beautifully that when I sat down to write, I could hardly believe how much meaningful time we shared in God’s Word, in quiet reflection, in creativity, and in joyful community. My heart overflows with thankfulness for this dedicated CRU team, the interns, and every moment we’ve had together.
Tomorrow we travel to Tallinn, and on Sunday we begin the journey home. Thank you so much for covering us in prayer throughout this trip. Please continue to pray for the CRU/Agape team in Estonia as they faithfully serve the next generation with the love of Christ.
We are truly blessed.
Tim
