Estonia - Day 4 - Peaches and Coconuts

“Estonians are like coconuts. Hard on the inside, but once you break it open it up, you get the sweet juicy part. Americans are like peaches; soft on the outside, tough on the inside” - Vahur

Thank you for praying for open hearts here in Estonia for both campers and our team.

Throughout our first full day at camp, times of fellowship were places that shine with God’s presence. Because of our willingness to engage in the hard questions, we have seen campers become more willing to open up. Some of these times have been while we are all eating together. We have been working to extend invitations to those around us whenever possible. One of these planned invitations was for a game of ultimate frisbee.

The game was played in a large field that allowed for communication and encouragement as we worked as a team. As we played it started to pour, which did not discourage anyone from continuing to play. The rain and lightning eventually got worse and the game ended with us all huddling in a gazebo. Once the rain lightened up a little, everyone made a run for their cabins until Easton started surfing in the mud. This lead campers to join in. As things started to seem a little dangerous, Will ended things for the safety of everyone involved.

As we waited out the rain. Our team was split up into our cabins, leading to a good time for connection and fellowship. This carried into debrief over dinner. Our night ended with playing a game in the dark with the campers.

Once again thank you for the prayers, we enjoyed telling you about our time here. Continue to pray for softened hearts and strength for the team.

God bless you; head aega (goodbye)!
