College Guatemala Day 3

Today was the first day of Jicamapa VBS! 

This year we decided to split the children into three different group: Bible application, games, and crafts. I (Josh) am blessed to be leading the Bible application team this year in order to bring the gospel to the children in an entertaining manner. Today’s story was about Abraham and his family being called by God to travel to the land of Canaan. We reinforced the idea of trusting in Gods plan for us by having the children do a trust fall exercise which was received with so much excitement! 

In the afternoon we painted the school and visited homes of the locals here in Jicamapa to build relationship, hear their story, and give each family a water filter. My personal highlight of this incredible first day was rekindling relationship with my friends David, Immanuel, and David. 

We played football until we accidentally broke a window (oops…) and then played freeze tag. Overall it was a day filled with joy and encouragement for the rest of the week!
