For more than a thousand years, Christ-followers have devoted the weeks leading
up to Easter to prepare their hearts to
fully engage with the deep sorrow of Good Friday and the exuberant joy of resurrection Sunday. Although traditions vary slightly,
this Lenten season has historically included increased times of prayer and reflection on God’s Word, penitence and some form of self-denial, such as fasting.
This Lent Journal is your invitation to join
in this ancient practice by taking a few minutes each day to meditate and pray.
The benediction in the New Testament
book of Jude forms the framework for our Journal, the pathway which will lead us closer to the cross and the resurrection. You’ll recognize the words of this passage from the way we close Woodmen worship services each weekend, sending the church into the week ahead with a Christ-centered, God-glorifying, Holy Spirit-fueled purpose
in our hearts.
